Learning from Deaths policy

The Dudley Group is committed to being a responsive and reflective organisation that continually strives to make improvements to our services.

We know that reviewing and learning from deaths of people in our care can help us to learn lessons and, where necessary, make changes to improve the quality of care we provide

We welcome the Learning from Deaths guidance from the National Quality Board which outlines requirements for all providers to produce and publish a policy outlining how they support improvement by learning from deaths that occur in their care.

At The Dudley Group, we have had a robust policy for reviewing all deaths that occur in hospital for a number of years. We also have a nationally recognised mortality tracking system which helps us ensure we learn as much as possible from all deaths.
